Reflections from the Journey: Painting What the Sea Reveals

“ With the SAILING series, I wanted to show what a person can truly experience during a sea voyage, the moments that unfold quietly and naturally while moving across water. During this journey, I encountered hidden small islands, sea turtles, colorful and picturesque fish, as well as constantly changing sunrises and sunsets that transformed the horizon each day.

These experiences became visual memories that I later translated into painting. Rather than documenting specific scenes, I focused on capturing atmosphere, emotion, and the sense of discovery that comes with sailing. Working with mixed media on canvas, combining oil paints and acrylics, allowed me to build layered surfaces that reflect depth, movement, and transition.

Through this series, I wanted to share the calm, wonder, and subtle intensity of life at sea, moments of observation where nature reveals its beauty, tenderness, and quiet power. ”
